Plastic surgery is a branch of surgical specialty which deals with the restoration, reconstruction, or alteration of the human body. It includes cosmetic or aesthetic surgery, reconstructive surgery, craniofacial surgery, hand surgery, microsurgery, and the treatment of burns. Cosmetic surgery aims to change your appearance by altering parts of your body that function normally but make you unhappy whereas Plastic surgery is defined as a surgical specialty dedicated to reconstruction of facial and body defects due to birth disorders, trauma, burns, and disease.

This branch is a combination of cosmetic surgery, burn surgery, craniofacial surgery, hand surgery, pediatric plastic surgery. Plastic surgeons are focused on reconstructive procedures. They can see patients who have conditions like birth disorders, injuries, illnesses, or burns. Many plastic surgeons choose to become cosmetic surgeons and do procedures to change a patient’s appearance or aesthetic. But not all plastic surgeons are also cosmetic surgeons.

What Does a Plastic Surgeon Do?

Plastic surgeons can repair or reconstruct any part of the body except the central nervous system. Some of the procedures they do are:
